Spotlight on Uptowne

Uptowne High Point is in the spotlight! City Project leaders met with the High Point City Council this week to give them a report on their vision of Uptowne. They presented renderings of a future Uptowne by High Point Architect, Peter Freeman. The drawings include a two-laned Main Street, round about fountain, condos, active store fronts, landscaping, and street scape. Leaders asked Council to consider lowering the speed limit from 45 to 25. Jay Wagner, Uptowne High Point Chair, pointed out that Uptowne will be more active when the traffic slows down and people realize what is around them. Restaurants want to create outdoor dining opportunities, yet feel uncomfortable doing so at the current speed limit. A Wicked Addition to the Uptowne High Point Family

You know that there is always a "wicked" one in the family... and it's located at 120W. Lexington Ave. I visited Wicked Purple this week, because, let's face it, the name alone intrigued me... I was greeted by owner, Susanne Talcott who is the mastermind behind all the delightfully wicked clothing, shoes, accessories, and gifts on display at this eclectic boutique. If you are looking for that unusual piece of jewelry, that special gift, or that one of a kind blouse to go with your favorite pair of jeans, then this store is for you!! From candles to cowboy boots, Wicked Purple has everything a girl needs to accessories her life. Many of the jewelry pieces are handmade by local artists and most of the store's items are priced between $12 - $100. Wicked Purple is located in the same shopping center as Char Grill and Verena's, which is also beside Emerywood Fine Foods. Please make the time to check out Wicked Purple and welcome Susanne to Uptowne High Point!
