Aquarius Music Hall

When our 2nd Beach Blast had to move indoors because of weather (September 17 – Part Time Party Time Band) – we held it in the Natale building (400 English St) – the former Amos Hosiery building. The venue was perfect (ok – a bit warm because the A/C wasn’t turned on soon enough), the acoustics great – and it enabled people to see other possibilities for some of these fabulous buildings that are empty, for lease or for sale.

The owner of the Natale building is now promoting the Natale building as Aquarius – the newest music hall for the triad! Go to his website to see: www.theaquariusmusichall.com . According to Gabriel (the owner), the Triad lacks a venue of this size (capacity of roughly 1,000) – and his goal is to have 2 events per week with local talent – 3 events per month with national talent…..and if this goes well – to later add restaurants into the mix.

Especially now, as the City is advocating for the Market Overlay District boundaries that will restrict the showroom areas – I think surrounding property owners would be encouraged to see how at least one property owner is attempting to market/use his property – and it might spark other creative ideas in the minds of some of the other property owners. And in talking to the owner, although the upcoming event (Nov 27) might be more appealing for the college crowd, I’ve been told that they really want to bring in a wide range of music, that would appeal to all ages and race.

I would love for us to help him get the word out any way possible – can you send this information onto any and all of your contacts? This will be great for our urban core!
